In any new website project, a great development process is needed. Here is a look at Iowa Technology Concept’s process for developing and designing your next website:
We follow a basic 5 step process when developing your next website.
- First Meeting
- Live Environment Testing
- The Site is Live
1. First Meeting
During this first meeting, we will go over a few key items:
- Who is writing the content?
- Homepage Design
- Menu Items
2. Wireframe and Mockup
Depending on the circumstances we will provide a wireframe and mockup during the first meeting. A wireframe is a diagram of the internal link structure of your website. It is good to have this planned out before we start building your next website.
A mockup is a rough black and white sketch of the website. During this point in the conversation, any tweaks can be made and resubmitted to the client for approval. The mockup shows images, menu items, and any other visual elements. Both a web browser and iPhone version will be provided.
After the wireframe and mockups have been approved and content is ready to go, we will design your new website. The development process may take a week or more depending on the amount of work needed.
4. Live Environment Testing
Once the initial development of the website is complete we will put the website through a rigorous testing process. This process takes around one week. The testing phase will confirm that your new website is optimized for all platforms, ready for Google and more. The website will now be opened for the client to explore so that any tweaks can be made. The client will sign off on this phase and the site will be placed into production.
5. The Site is Live
Congratulations! The website is live. The client will be provided credentials to log into the site to make content changes as needed.
